Bloomin’ Bloomers Everywhere

With Easter over, it was time to head up into the Netherlands for Phil to meet up with his buddies for their annual fishing week. Well, that was the plan anyway! Three of the boys had to withdraw, two at the last minute, so the whole thing got cancelled. Very disappointing for Phil, however the upside for the HappiHalls, was that the fishymen’s house was fully paid and couldn’t be cancelled so we both moved in for a week, and enjoyed a life of luxury in a beautiful House on a lake, with fishing on the doorstep for Phil, and a washing machine for Carol – she was over the moon! We even had our own duck knocking on the door every morning to come in. The fishing wasn’t that great so the boys didn’t miss out on too much.

The Grebes probably caught more fish than Phil this week; the phrase “you’ve bitten off more than you can chew”, seemed very appropriate at times, but amazingly they managed to get these big fish down their tiny little necks – and then went back for more!

Our week of luxury over, we headed up to Keukenhof Gardens, the showcase for the Dutch tulip industry. It’s only open for eight weeks every spring, when almost 1.5 million visitors arrive to enjoy the amazing colourful spectacle created by the seven million flowering tulips. Pictures will describe better than words, so other than saying how amazed we were at the variety of tulips, I wont say anything else, and let you enjoy some of our pictures of the amazing flowers and gardens 😀
